Research Interviews- Transitioning to Independent Practice
Dr. Sarah Cook is conducting a Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada–funded qualitative study exploring the experiences of International Trained Physicians who have transitioned to independent practice in Canada.
The study is particularly interested in ITPs who completed Canadian postgraduate residency training between 2020 and 2025.
Participation involves a one-time confidential Zoom interview. Individuals who feel this study may be relevant to their experience — or who know colleagues for whom it may be relevant — are invited to contact the researcher directly sarah.cook@ucalgary.ca

Examining Internationally Trained Family Physicians- Return of Service Experiences
Are you an internationally trained Family Medicine graduate of an Ontario medical school residency program in the last 10 years?
Have you completed your return of service agreement?
What factors have influenced how, where and why you practice?
We would like to hear your perspective.

Research Interviews- Impact of Return of Service Agreements and how they influence the careers of Family Physicians
Participants will complete a one-on-one interview (approximately 45 minutes) where you will be asked to share your personal experience after completing a Return of Service Agreement in Ontario.
Your insights will contribute to a better understanding of the impact of Return of Service Agreements and how they influence the careers of family physicians.
Participants will be provided compensation for study participation.You may be eligible if you:
1. Completed medical school or residency training outside of Canada
2. Are currently living in Ontario
3. Have completed Return of Service Agreement in Ontario within the last 10 years​
