Since its inception Internationally Trained Physicians of Ontario (ITPO) has served as a support to ITPs across Canada; providing trusted resources, building community, and advocating for change. Our new name - Internationally Trained Physicians of Canada (ITPC) reflects more accurately our vision and mission.

Nationwide Advocacy

2) Discussions with Members of Provincial Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly in ON and BC via #mppchats and #mlachats campaigns (2021-2022). Read more here: https://www.itpo.ca/advocacy ​

3) Stakeholder meeting with the Health Canada health workforce committee and IEHP subcommittee to advise of ITP issues countrywide. We highlighted the importance of a National Clinical Assistant program that ladders to licensure (2025). Read more here:: https://www.itpo.ca/ladder-to-licensure​

4)The ITPO team gathered in Calgary on October 25th and 26th for the "Building Collaboration on Policy and Programs: A National Convening of ITP-Led and ITP-Serving Organizations" conference. ITPO representatives from each province/territory participated (2024). 5) A Nova Scotia contingent of ITPO members met with Federal Shadow Minister of Health Dan Mazier during his trip to Nova Scotia (2025)
