Currency/Recency of Practice (ROP) Survey

Barriers Survey for Internationally Trained Physicians

Recency of Practice Survey

Meeting recency of practice (ROP) requirements can come at a personal cost.

For many ITPs, staying clinically active while navigating licensure barriers can mean time away from family, travelling between countries, or making difficult personal and professional decisions.

ITPC is gathering ITP experiences to understand these barriers and advocate for more realistic and attainable licensure pathways.

The survey will:
• Identify ways ITPs maintain competence
• Assess barriers related to ROP requirements
• Generate evidence to inform policy reform

Open to licensed and unlicensed ITPs in Canada.

Licensed ITPs: please answer relevant questions based on your experience with ROP requirements before obtaining licensure.
