Dr. Ksenia Kholina, MSc MD CCFP is a practicing Family Medicine and Hospitalist physician based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dr. Kholina holds a Medical Degree from Pavlov First State Medical University, as well as a BSc and MSc in Applied Human Nutrition from Mount Saint Vincent University. Her academic excellence has been recognized by a number of scholarships and awards, including a prestigious Scotia Scholars Award and The Quest - John Ruedy Award for the greatest health research potential in the province of Nova Scotia. Prior to starting her residency in Family Medicine, she worked as a Research Fellow at Dalhousie University.
Dr. Kholina joined ITPC in 2022, while she was on her own licensing journey. She found ITPC to be a great source of support and connection. To give back, she joined the Policy, Advocacy and Research Committee, first as a volunteer and then as a Research Manager. In 2024, Dr. Kholina accepted a position as a Director of Policy, Advocacy and Research, and became a Vice-Chair the following year.
Dr. Kholina is a passionate leader and ITP advocate. She utilizes data-driven approaches and her research expertise to promote the excellence of internationally trained physicians and advocate for fair licensing pathways.
