Having gone through the challenging journey myself, I understand firsthand the barriers internationally trained physicians face in Canada. Each obstacle I overcame strengthened my desire to share what I had learned and to support others navigating the same path. During my own journey in 2021, I connected with ITPO (as it was then called), which provided me with invaluable resources and a sense of community. From that moment, I knew I wanted to give back. Becoming an advocate for ITPs has been deeply meaningful to me, and I am truly honoured to serve as an ITPC regional representative.

My proudest moments have been seeing my ITP colleagues and mentees successfully secure residency positions in Canada and witnessing ITPO grow into ITPC. This transformation reflects the collective effort and resilience of our community, and I am proud to be part of it.

I hope to see ITPC continue expanding its reach and recognition, becoming a nationally respected voice for internationally trained physicians in Canada. For ITPs, my vision is a simplified and transparent pathway to licensure, and a fair, inclusive residency match process that recognizes and values the diverse experiences and contributions of ITPs.

I deepened my commitment to advocacy by serving as the ITP Representative for the Internal Medicine program at the University of Toronto and as a PARO General Council Representative (2024–2025).

Outside of medicine, I love chasing adventure outdoors - on a bike, on a trail, on a river, or anywhere close to nature.
